Story

In honour of my partner James Male I will be abseiling the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. As well as being a cheeki sailor, rock climbing was another of James' passions, he always pestered me to give it a go and regrettably I never joined him. Now in his honour I will finally put my fears to one side and abseil 100m down the side of the Spinnaker Tower, the tower is 170m tall in total and located in Portsmouth with a 360° veiw of Portsmouth Harbour, the South coast and the Isle of Wigh, Couldn't find a more appropriate location! ! Those of you that know me understand that I have an extreme fear of heights (I can't even cope with a window seat in Ikea cafe!) So know that this will be a real challenge for me! The abseil will take place on the 24th May 2015. One year on since the final search was called off. We've chosen to set up this memorial fund to hopefully prevent such tragedies happening to other families and brave sailors, the RNLI do a fantastic job in keeping the waters safe and saving lives, so please give as much or as little as you can, 100% goes to the Cheeki Rafiki forever by the sea fund and will help provide essential lifesaving equipment! Thank you Adele
